You Wish!

At Harbour High, 16-year-old Alex Lansing endures torment from his younger brother Stevie, who toys with him and pulls pranks. One infamous trick involves Stevie buying a turkey on a pet adoption show to embarrass Alex, and he also arranges for the Harbour High jocks, Gary and friends, to slam a pizza on Alex's head. The harassment creates a tense, chaotic school day for Alex.

Alex is forced to take Stevie to the mall, where Stevie meets Larry Pendragon and receives a magical coin that can grant wishes. The coin promises power, and Stevie eagerly experiments with it. Stevie then runs off into the crowd, leaving Alex frustrated and worried.

Back home, their parents punish Alex for the latest chaos, piling on the pressure. Stevie hands him the coin to make amends, and Alex impulsively wishes that he had never had a little brother. The act sets a dangerous change in motion that will reshape his world.

The next morning, Alex awakens to a changed reality: Stevie is now a famous child actor named Terrence Russell McCormack, starring on a TV show called Where's Stevie?. Terrence is popular, dating a cheerleader, and the school environment shifts to accommodate his fame. Alex struggles to navigate this altered life.

Terrence's celebrity status reshapes Alex's world, and his old friends Abby and James feel alienated as Terrence's entourage—jocks and a blunt cheerleader girlfriend Fiona—dominate. The family’s new obsession with fame intensifies, and even the family dog becomes a source of discomfort with incessant snoring. Alex begins to long for his former life and Stevie's companionship.

Feeling the ache of loss, Alex misses his brother and tries to seek out Terrence in his dressing room, hoping a moment of familiarity will return. Terrence brushes him off, thinking he is crazy or pranking him, and sends Alex away. The separation deepens Alex's sense of loneliness as he grapples with their changed bond.

As Terrence and Alex walk home together, they begin to accept that they are still connected by their brotherhood, even in different lives. They decide to find the magical coin and reverse the situation, enlisting Abby's help by convincing her they were friends before the wish. The unlikely trio bands together to set things right.

The trio tracks down Larry Pendragon, but his shop is closed and he has already sold the magical coin. The loss weighs heavily as they realize reversing the wish won’t be easy. The quest ends in a realization that the coin’s magic may be out of reach.

Alex and Terrence are unexpectedly caught by the police and taken back to Alex's home. Terrance's caretaker arrives to help cover up his absence, and Terrance receives a call from his mother, only to learn she is getting remarried. The tension peaks as both brothers confront their complicated lives.

The next day, Alex's father brings home a bunch of old coins to cheer him up. Alex tosses them around and discovers that one is the magic coin. His excited shout scares his parents, and they threaten to break his door down as he clutches the coin and contemplates his next move.

Alex wishes to undo the first wish, waking up back in his original world and reuniting with Stevie and his friends. He eagerly embraces Stevie and even asks Abby out, only to awkwardly correct himself when he spots Fiona, leaving others confused. The return to normal life rekindles his friendships in a new light.

Later, Alex, James, and Abby take Stevie skating, attempting to teach him the ropes. Stevie initially gives up, but then uses the coin to become a brilliant skater, proving that the bond between brothers can endure and that some magic was never truly gone. The trio firm up their friendship as they share a new, lighter moment together.
