Set in 1924, Boston aristocrat Hannah Adams, eager for the stage, invites musical star Tim O’Connor to dinner. Their flirtation sparks a chain of events that sees Tim’s troupe moving to Chicago, where an inept chorus girl becomes the new Mrs. O’Connor. As Hollywood calls, the film traces the O’Connor family’s rise from silent pictures to talkies.
