Mickey the wandering minstrel rides his donkey across medieval Europe and reaches Kalapazoo Castle. There he witnesses the king announce that his daughter Minnie will marry the prince of Poopapadoo, setting up a clash between duty and love. The moment establishes the central conflict of the tale.

The king decrees that Mickey will be executed by guillotine, turning the rescue into a high-stakes crisis. Minnie pleads for mercy, admitting her love and prompting a dramatic turn toward a chance to prove his worth in a duel.

To win Minnie's hand, Mickey accepts a duel with the prince. He outfits himself with improvised armor made from a stove and helmet, while the prince wears full armor and rides a real horse. The crowd cheers the dramatic contest.

The duel erupts into chaotic spectacle as both combatants are catapulted from their mounts. Mickey disarms the prince with a small guillotine and seizes the advantage. A donkey and a horse brawl, knocking over a portrait of the king and causing further mayhem.

Mickey secures victory as the prince escapes through a window. Minnie runs to greet him, and the crowd carries them on the donkey toward the exit, celebrating their defiant love. The atmosphere shifts from danger to jubilant rebellion.

The story closes with Mickey and Minnie sharing a kiss behind a fan, sealing their romance as the celebration spills into the streets. The couple's escape from tyranny ends on a lighthearted, hopeful note.
