In the 1960s, Nichelle Nichols, already a trailblazing actress, was enlisted by NASA to help recruit a diverse group of scientists and engineers. Her mission was to launch a national campaign aimed at attracting the nation’s most talented individuals, ultimately leading to the first African American, Asian, and Latino astronauts who would break barriers and fly in space. The film chronicles this pivotal moment in history and Nichols’ significant contribution to the space program.
