Winter Days (2003) is an animated anthology directed by Kihachirō Kawamoto, based on a 1684 renku collection by Bashō. In keeping with the linked‑poem tradition, each of the 36 stanzas is illustrated by a different animator—35 artists from Japan and abroad—who contributed roughly 30 seconds of footage, most under a minute, while Yuriy Norshteyn’s segment runs close to two minutes.
