A sweeping love story set against a Mexican revolution, starring Fernández himself as Rogelio Torres. The narrative centers on Esperanza, the granddaughter of a laborer, and José Luis Castro, the fiery son of a landowner. Castro joins the rebels and is disowned, while Esperanza remains steadfast. After his father is slain by outlaws, Castro seeks vengeance and sacrifices his life, leaving Esperanza to carry on the revolutionary cause with their young son.
