Adapted from Ernest Claes’s classic Flemish novel, this early black‑and‑white film follows the mischievous farmhand’s son nicknamed ‘the White’ for his blond hair. His clever yet naughty pranks constantly frustrate teachers, family and his father’s stern employer, a wealthy farmer, illustrating the harsh, swift punishments boys endured in that era.
