The professor Komiya and his domineering wife Tokiko are tasked with supervising their lively Osaka niece, Setsuko. Though a minor, she acts independently—smoking, persuading Komiya to visit a geisha house, and drinking freely. When she becomes tipsy, Komiya summons his student Okada to accompany her home, prompting Tokiko’s suspicion.
