The film examines Brazil's stark contradictions: the world’s largest Catholic nation where over thirty thousand women die from unsafe abortions, the tenth‑largest economy with 27 % of women sterilised, and a country marked by the highest income inequality on Earth. Through the lives of Vera, Ivonete, Carmen, Denise, Maria do Carmo and Marlove, the documentary portrays personal struggles and the broader fight for reproductive rights in a nation where the promised future remains out of reach.
