The film surveys three facets of China’s clothing industry: the daily grind of workers on a massive production‑line factory; a designer who opposes mass‑machine manufacturing and has created a hand‑sewn collection called ‘Useless’ (Wuyong) for Paris Fashion Week; and the precarious lives of out‑of‑work tailors in the small town of Fengdang.
