In the third Urusei Yatsura film, Ataru is turned into a pink hippopotamus, forcing Lum to chase the mischievous magician Ruu. Their high‑speed pursuit weaves through a nighttime city and a hall of mirrors, causing chaos. With Lum gone, the friends contemplate leaving Tomobiki, but the town slowly returns to normal. The movie showcases Lum’s fierce determination and makes Ataru’s true feelings for her clear.
