In 1981, the newly built and supposedly unsinkable rescue boat RF2 tragically sank during its first mission in Hirtshals, resulting in the deaths of nine men. Henrik, the captain’s son, begins an investigation into the accident, suspecting his father may be unfairly blamed. As he seeks answers, Henrik encounters resistance from the local community and battles the emotional toll of the disaster, which threatens to fracture his family. The film draws inspiration from real events.
