Following the sudden death of her husband in an accident, Colette's life takes a dramatic turn. The tragedy seems to bring her closer to her daughter Gabrielle, a young woman struggling with bulimia and working as a high-end escort. Gabrielle becomes intensely curious about Joseph, a Belgian philosophy teacher visiting Montreal, peppering him with questions about life and existence. Initially unnerved by her persistent inquiries, Joseph considers returning home to his lover, but finds himself increasingly drawn to Gabrielle's enigmatic presence.
