Adapted from Enrique Jardiel Poncela’s play, the story centers on a henpecked husband whose overbearing wife forces him to shave his cherished beard to dress as a bullfighter for a costume ball. The strain triggers a fatal heart attack. After his death his ghost roams the house, stirring unforeseen mishaps, while the wife slowly softens into a kind, understanding woman.
