Lauren manages to reach a remote Airbnb to escape the relentless media storm after a leaked pregnancy test. While she tries to rest, two men—Darren and his accomplice Merg—break in, hoping to rob the property. Their nephew Marcus, the Airbnb’s manager, has installed hidden cameras and warns them off, but when he falls asleep the thieves slip inside. A violent clash erupts: Merg, intending to assault Lauren, forces the door open, accidentally shoots Marcus, and then shoots Darren when the struggle intensifies. The ricochet kills Merg, leaving only the wounded Darren and a terrified Lauren trapped in the boiler room.

Darren, bleeding and delirious, drags himself to a nearby hospital, where his incoherent attempts to describe a girl locked inside go unanswered. Meanwhile, Peter Johnson—the sitcom co‑star who had pressured Lauren to abort—has hired his security chief, Kroft, to silence her permanently. Kroft tracks a stray dog, Georgie, to a veterinary clinic, follows the rescuer Loretta, and discovers the cabin where Lauren is imprisoned.

Inside the cabin, the water level rises as Lauren’s desperate attempts to break free crack a pipe. She uses an iron rod to kill a rat, then unscrews the door hinges, buying herself time. Loretta, having taken Georgie in, arrives just as Darren, having escaped from the hospital, returns to the scene. Kroft appears, intending to finish the job, but Loretta seizes the moment and shoots him. In the chaos Lauren finally pries the door open; the collapsing frame knocks Kroft’s body onto her, and she, bruised but alive, watches as the police rush in, having pieced together the crime from the hidden‑camera footage and Darren’s garbled confession.

The investigation reveals Peter’s involvement: phone records link him to Kroft, and the murder‑for‑hire plot collapses. Peter’s career is destroyed and he faces prison, while the sitcom is cancelled. Free at last, Lauren posts a photo of her positive pregnancy test, announcing she will keep the baby. She embraces the new life she’s built with her son and Georgie, shedding the false image of “America’s Sweetheart” and asserting that her own strength—not anyone’s promises—has become her true source of trust.
