Peter Whitehead’s avant‑garde ‘Pop Concerto’ assembles music‑driven vignettes of Swinging London, 1966‑67. Early Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive” scores arty club scenes; Chris Farlowe’s cover of “Out of Time” underscores a young woman’s reflections on nightlife emptiness. The Marquess of Kensington croons “Changing of the Guard” over palace guard footage, while Vashti records in studio. Interludes feature Mick Jagger and commentary on sex by Julie Christie, Michael Caine, Lee Marvin and Edna O’Brien. It ends with the riot that halted the Stones’ 1966 Royal Albert Hall concert.
