In the ending of Tommaso, we see the fractured relationship between the brothers reach a breaking point. Tommy, overwhelmed by his inner turmoil, holds Rocco at gunpoint and insists on taking him to Lucia’s wedding. Lucia, who has moved on with her life, is now married again, and her relationship with Tommy is strained due to past betrayals and unhealed wounds. When they finally meet, Tommy's anger erupts as he points the gun at Lucia, threatening to kill her for her perceived betrayal. However, in a moment of emotional collapse, Tommy does not carry out the attack. Instead, he breaks down completely, unable to hold his pain and guilt any longer.
After this emotional breakdown, Tommy and Rocco go to a dilapidated Italian restaurant, which symbolizes their shared past and brotherly bond. They destroy the place in an act of rebellious release, reaffirming their complicated connection. Tragically, Tommy's mental state deteriorates further after this, leading him to shoot himself in his apartment, ending his life in a moment of despair. This heartbreaking finale underscores the deep scars and unresolved trauma that have haunted the brothers’ lives.
