In a frontier town ruled by an oppressive family, a notorious gunslinger arrives and challenges their power. Far from a classic John Wayne hero, he is captured, brutally beaten and left for dead, only to be saved by a prostitute who has also suffered under the family. The only one who can oppose them is a solitary man, newly appointed sheriff, who ultimately allies with the outlaws.
