In the Fleischer Brothers’ animated version of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven,” the ominous bird still arrives “rapping and tapping” at the door, but instead of delivering grief it peddles vacuum cleaners. The plot spirals when the big bad wolf convinces the raven to join a robbery, pulling in a lord of the manor and a kilt‑wearing Scottish terrier, sending the story careening far from its literary roots.
