Adapted from Alexandros Papadiamantis' novella, the film follows Fragkogiannou (Maria Alkaiou), a hard‑bought, unbalanced woman. While holding her newborn granddaughter, she remembers her cruel mother and criminal brother. Convinced daughters bring only misery, she strangles the infant and later drowns a girl, believing she spares families.
