Hasan and his longtime friend Davod share a modest home. Hasan, a screenwriter, only produces bleak scripts that producers constantly reject, and he pines for Mahshid, the daughter of a rich family. Humiliated by Mahshid’s protective uncle because of his poverty, Hasan crafts a commercially appealing screenplay, presents it to a producer who has always turned him down, and, after reading it, the producer eagerly purchases it, promising Hasan the wealth he has long desired.
