Their father (Pantelis Zervos) insists Alekos’s sister Annoula (Zoe Laskari) wed first. Annoula’s boyfriend Antonis (Stephanos Stratigos) meets Alekos in a Panorama café and advises “escaping through an engagement” to appease Voula’s brother—while planning to use the same trick himself.
