This film offers an encounter with the militant minimalism of Julius Eastman, a black avant-garde queer composer, pianist, and vocalist. Through an experience of watching and listening, the documentary explores Eastman's work and the political feelings of defiance it evokes. It examines the collective practice of movement building and its connection to global struggles against authoritarianism, highlighting Eastman’s own description of his aesthetic as full of honor, integrity, and boundless courage.
