Based on Alexander Pushkin’s verse fairy‑tale, this lush fantasy follows a young Tsarina betrayed by her sisters and cast into the sea in a barrel with her infant son. They survive a storm‑tossed voyage and reach a remote island where the son, now magically grown, falls for a Swan Princess in human form and longs to reunite with his father, Tsar Saltan. Merchants bring news of the tsar, but the sisters persist in weaving lies to keep them apart.
