After quitting a successful career, a disillusioned man takes refuge at a railway station, refusing to leave despite visits from his son. He watches travelers. A TV reporter, needing a story to keep his job, becomes intrigued by the man's mystery. When crew arrives, he flees to station roof, sees a sliver of sunshine—the “smaller sky”—and steps onto glass, falling to death.
