In spring 1945 a Baltic resort town sees 16‑year‑old Günter convinced Germany will win. He hunts an escaped labourer, captures and watches his execution, then receives an Iron Cross. Captured by Soviet troops, he escapes, returns home and is arrested by the Red Army for murder during occupation. The film was banned in 1968 and negative destroyed.
