“Three thrill‑hungry dames played me for a sucker—now it’s my turn.” After hitchhiking with a truck driver, Johnny McBride is severely burned and loses his memory when the vehicle’s tire blows and it goes over an embankment in flames. An acquaintance tells him a photograph of him is displayed in the window of a photo studio in Lyncastle. Determined to recover his past, Johnny heads to the town hoping the sight will trigger his lost memories.
