In November 1942, near the Volga, Stalingrad is besieged by German Commander Friedrich Paulus and his 330,000 troops. The Soviet high command launches a desperate operation to hold the Mishkova River, aiming to prevent roughly four hundred tanks from reinforcing Paulus. Soviet artillerymen defend the line to the last, fighting a brutal melee that leaves only a handful of survivors.
