Desirée, a modern librarian with an urban lifestyle, visits her late husband’s grave and meets Benny, a simple farmer living alone after his mother’s death. Despite their different worlds, they fall passionately in love, and Benny urges her to move to his rundown farm and start a family. Desirée, however, is reluctant about becoming a farmer’s wife, especially when a tempting job offer in Stockholm forces her to weigh her future priorities.
