Patty O’Neill, an actress, meets architect Donald Gresham on the Empire State Building’s deck. He invites her to his apartment, where she meets his neighbors—ex‑fiancée Cynthia and roguish David Slader—who try to seduce her. Preferring debates on moral and sexual issues, Patty rejects them, returns to the deck, and Donald proposes marriage.
