Higashigaoka Junior High is still reeling after bullied student Noguchi’s suicide attempt. New substitute Murauchi (Hiroshi Abe), who speaks with a stutter, confronts the class with blunt honesty. He orders the pupils to put Noguchi’s desk and chair back and greets the empty seat with “Good morning, Noguchi.” His quiet protest reshapes the school.
