Originating as an internet phrase denoting a lack of romantic relationships, "TFW No GF" has become a symbol for broader feelings of isolation and alienation. The documentary explores the online community surrounding the meme’s mascot, “WOJAK,” a group of young people who find connection and shared experiences through despair. It examines how the rise of online spaces like 4chan and Twitter has shaped a generation's sense of belonging and identity, and investigates the phenomenon of feeling disconnected from the “real world.”
