David Martinaud, a diligent accountant, pretends weekly visits to his parents as a cover to renovate his country cottage. He hides this because his longtime crush Lise lives nearby; despite her marriage he still hopes for a reunion. His obsession borders on mania, and when Lise’s husband is accidentally killed, David’s behavior spirals out of control.
