Each month, as welfare benefits expire, Catherine finds herself repeatedly intervening to prevent her mother, Tammy, from attempting suicide. Their already strained relationship is further complicated when Tammy receives a terminal diagnosis, forcing them to spend more time together. Catherine must then navigate the challenges of caring for her mother while also confronting difficult choices about her own future and ambitions, ultimately questioning the meaning of sacrifice and compromise.
