The film uncovers a chapter of history: in the 1960s‑70s Britain forced the entire Chagos island community to leave their homes so the US could turn Diego Garcia into a base. Exiled islanders describe life in Mauritian slums, while British documents form a paper trail the International Criminal Court deems a crime against humanity.
