During a rigorous “stress phase” exercise, he encounters recruit Curtis and Sergeant Jacqueline Black, an expert in edged weapons. Both Curtis and Sergeant Black showcase their skills and express their keen aspirations for serving on future missions. As they navigate a challenging course through the woods, Curtis struggles to keep pace with Black, prompting Scott to insist that if Curtis isn’t able to sustain such demanding physical challenges, he should consider withdrawing from the program. Nevertheless, Curtis perseveres to maintain his pursuit of Sergeant Black.

As the training progresses, Curtis engages in a pivotal hand-to-hand combat challenge against another recruit, with the victor earning a coveted spot in the Delta unit. Just when Scott thinks his time with the cadre is over, he’s pulled into a secret mission aimed at rescuing the President’s daughter, Laura Newton. With a tight two-day window before media coverage reveals her disappearance from Harvard University, the team acts quickly. The investigation takes a dark turn when it becomes clear that one of the Secret Service agents allowed Laura to slip away, leading to that agent’s tragic suicide following an interrogation. The team’s inquiry leads them to suspect Laura’s college professor and her boyfriend, who had a volatile argument with her prior to her abduction. This incident drives Laura to a bar infamous for recruiting young women into prostitution, from where they trace a lead to a brothel linked to an international sex trafficking organization.

Their investigation leads them to a payphone, and soon after, to a beach house. As Curtis takes a sniper position nearby, Scott attempts to gather intel by bluffing his way past one of the men inside. The clues point toward Tariq Asani, a Lebanese national imprisoned for his unsavory dealings. Undeterred, Scott vows to do whatever it takes to bring Laura home.
