During an orgy, leftist rebels murder elderly wealthy notables. Police hunt Virgile Cabral, the group's leader. Virgile’s estranged brother Vincent, a violinist and thief, returns to Paris after three years. Uninterested in politics, Vincent seeks his own life, but his search for the hunted brother drags him into a conflict he never chose.
