Lil' Mago takes El Smiley and El Casper to a haunting place known as La Bombilla, where illegal immigrants hide. This location becomes a significant backdrop for the dark activities that ensue.

The gang begins robbing passengers on a train filled with immigrants, drawing attention to their vulnerability. Among these immigrants is a family from Honduras, including a teenage girl named Sayra.

Haunted by his own past, El Casper intervenes when Lil' Mago attempts to harm Sayra. In a moment of intense rage and grief, he kills Lil' Mago to protect her, marking a turning point in his character.

To prove his loyalty to the gang, El Smiley betrays El Casper by revealing the events surrounding Lil' Mago's death to the gang leader El Sol. This act deepens his descent into violence and reinforces his allegiance.

As El Casper guides the immigrants, they navigate the dangers of avoiding immigration officers together. He forges a bond with Sayra as they escape from the gang's clutches, indicating a shift in his priorities.

At an immigrant shelter, Sayra seeks news about her father and uncle, only to receive a devastating message. A critical error in translation misleads her into believing her father is alive, reflecting the harsh reality faced by immigrants.

During a perilous river crossing, El Casper sacrifices his last cherished possession, a digital camera, to ensure Sayra crosses safely. This act emphasizes his protective instincts and deepening bond with her.

El Casper's struggle comes to a tragic end when he is confronted by the gang again. In a frantic chase, Smiley shoots him, sealing the fate of both characters amid the chaos of gang violence.

In the aftermath, Sayra stands outside a mall in the United States, holding the phone number of her father's second family. This moment symbolizes her hope amidst the loss and her longing for a fresh start.
