John T. Davis’s debut documentary, the first of a three‑film series that also includes Protex Hurrah (1980) and Self‑Conscious Over You (1981), examines Belfast’s local subculture and the impact of American cultural influences. The film captures the rise of Northern Ireland’s punk scene, presenting early footage of seminal groups such as Stiff Little Fingers, The Undertones, Protex, The Outcasts and Rhesus Negative, among others.
