The film follows Nevin, a poor seamstress, and Kemal, the son of a wealthy businessman, as they plan to marry despite his family’s fierce opposition. Kemal quits home and works at a shipyard, while the couple hurriedly prepares for the wedding. During a fitting, Nevin meets nightclub magnate Eşref, who is enchanted by her voice and beauty and tries to recruit her as a singer. She refuses, and Eşref becomes determined to separate her from Kemal, using any means at his disposal.
