A free‑form film adaptation of Eisenstein’s memoirs, rendered in a “stream‑of‑consciousness” style that the director embraced after reading James Joyce. The narrative follows his 1929 overseas journey, weaving recollections of his past, creative explorations, and speculative ideas. It blends reality, dreams and fantasies, using fragments from Eisenstein’s own films, contemporaries’ works and period documentary footage to illustrate his pivotal role in twentieth‑century culture.
