Nares recreates Ancient Rome using faux‑classical New York sites, most notably the American Thread Building in Tribeca. Its penthouse loft, with a dome, stands in for the imperial palace. To film there, Nares and crew posed as renters, were shown the apartment, unlocked the windows, and later returned with cast and crew to shoot the needed scenes.
