A lighthearted romance follows a young woman who escapes her boarding school to stay with her retired aunt, a former actress ostracized by the town’s snobbish, narrow‑minded residents. Together they confront local prejudice, endure a witch‑craft accusation and even get thrown into a pool of water, fighting for acceptance.
