Rana Mahendra Pratap Garewal (Mukesh Khanna) is a rich businessman who runs his firm with brother Vishwa (Dalip Tahil). Their friend Brij Nath (Paresh Rawal) is less wealthy, and Rana’s sister Madhu (Madhuri Dixit) is close to Brij’s brother Raja (Sanjay Kapoor). Though Rana and Brij plan Madhu and Raja’s marriage, Rana backs out and insults Brij because of his lower social status.
