Desperate for a gig, an unemployed musician has his friend spot an ad for a cellist and sign him up. The job, however, requires a woman, so he adopts the persona Märta Letterström and joins a trio at a small‑town hotel. He soon finds that keeping up the disguise and meeting the expectations of a female performer brings plenty of comedic challenges.
