Otto, a Jewish refugee who fled Berlin in the early days of World II, now runs a modest ice‑cream parlor in Amsterdam. The shop quickly becomes a microcosm of occupied Holland, drawing German soldiers, Dutch collaborators and members of the anti‑fascist resistance into its cramped tables, where daily interactions reveal the city’s strained loyalties and the fragile hope of survival.
