A young boy named Oskar dreams of a summer adventure with his mother. Instead, he’s unexpectedly sent to spend his vacation on his grandfather’s farm, a place he finds less than appealing. His only companion is Levi, an unusual boy who communicates with his pony. Seeking escape from their difficult circumstances, the two friends concoct a whimsical and ambitious plan: to sail across the Atlantic Ocean to America in their grandfather's boat.
