In the early 1930s, as Hitler’s anti-Semitic policies spread through Europe, celebrated violinist Bronislaw Huberman initiated a courageous effort to help Jewish musicians flee persecution. He skillfully arranged for their escape to Palestine, where they established the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. This remarkable endeavor not only preserved Europe’s invaluable musical legacy but also provided refuge for nearly 1,000 individuals, ensuring their survival against a backdrop of rising intolerance.
