Fernand Espitalion endures a domineering wife who leaves him waiting like a dog while she handles business. At a notary meeting about an inheritance, a shady man gets Fernand drunk, knocks him out and swaps his identity papers, leaving him as Robert Durand, a French Foreign Legion recruit.
