Oggy and the Cockroaches: The Movie

In an extremely long-ago moment, a blue amoeba forms in the primeval sea, bright with mischief. It is mocked by three other amoebas—a purple, an orange, and a green one—sparking a frantic chase. The chase ends with a whimsical transformation: the blue creature becomes a light-blue cat named Oggy, and the others become a trio of cockroaches. The trio then ends up on a desert island, beginning their ongoing chase.

On the desert island, Oggy frames a high-spirited pursuit of his newfound pests. The cat darts after the cockroaches as they taunt him and orchestrate trouble with playful mischief. Their lighthearted chase marks the first spark of a timeless, recurring dynamic that frames the rest of the story.

Jumping forward to roughly 120,000 years ago, cats have evolved into Neanderthals living in villages. Oggy and his cousin Jack are pressed to bring fire to their chief after Oggy accidentally extinguishes it while chasing the roaches. Oggy's fear of fire, a memory from childhood, complicates the mission, but tradition and obligation push them forward toward a volcano. They trek toward the volcanic crater as the roaches continue their mischief.

Oggy climbs into the crater and faints, only to be captured by hyenas who threaten to eat him. Olivia, a white cat, nurses Oggy back to health. Oggy bonds with Olivia, while Jack meets her on a dangerous descent; meanwhile the roaches mislead Bob toward the trio.

The roaches mislead Bob and his pack toward the trio, trapping Jack and Olivia. With a makeshift torch, Oggy rescues them and they escape together. They return to the village just in time to rekindle the ancestral fire and restore the tribe's warmth.

In the medieval tale Prince Oggy II, Oggy and Jack undertake quests laid out by Oggy's noble father, who once defeated the cockroach king. Their journey leads them to Olivia, a forest-dwelling figure who was meant to become a princess but has been kidnapped by the roaches. The arc tests loyalty, courage, and the evolving bond between Oggy and the world around him.

Dee Dee and Marky steal Olivia's key to Big Ben, sparking a playful mystery through London's fog. Olivia seeks help from the legendary detective Jack Holmes, with Oggy contributing in his own quirky way. As the year turns, the capers weave through the city's winding streets.

In the CGI space outing, Oggy-Wan Kenoggy and Jack voyage through space to hijack a ship. Bob Vader threatens the world, sending cockroach minions to stop them and unleashing peril at every turn. A near-miss with a cannon and Bob's looming laser culminate in a decisive moment as space collapses and the duo escapes, while Joey consoles Bob with memories of their shared past.

A massive explosion destroys Bob's ship, scattering the cockroaches' limbs. The blue cat's severed parts drift away and morph back into a blue amoeba as the animation shifts back to 2D. The amoeba then begins the cycle anew, with Oggy and the cockroaches chasing each other once more on the same desert island from the opening scene.

With the cycle resetting, Oggy and the cockroaches again evolve and take up their chase on the familiar desert island. The story closes on the persistence of their playful chaos, suggesting no true end to their adventures.

After the credits roll, a final offscreen yowl from Oggy triggers the roaches' laughter, hinting that their world will endure its mischievous chaos. The audience is left with a sense that the chase will continue beyond the frame.
